James
Pace is a research associate who is responsible for the operation of
the Cody lab. He carries out cloning, expression and purification of
the various DHFR proteins under study and sets up crystallization
trials of the other new lab projects. He also supervises the summer interns. |

Jennifer
Makin, an undergraduate biology major from Canisius College, worked as
a summer research intern during 2006 and 2007. Her project focused on
making active site mutants of human and Pneumocystis
carinii DHFR. She also expressed and purified these enzymes for
crystallization. |

Jennifer
Piraino is an undergraduate biological sciences major who is working
in the lab for research credits during the 2007 year. Her project focused
on the cloning, expression and purification of human and pcDHFR active
site mutants. She also carried out expression and purification of these
enzymes for crystallization studies. |

Carter
Mitchell was an IGPBS rotation student in the fall of 2007. His project
focused on making a series of single and double active site mutants in Pneumocystis jirovecii DHFR.
He carried out the cloning, expression and purification of these mutants
for crystallization. |

Jonathan
Langer, an undergraduate biology major from Indiana University, was a
summer research intern in 2007. His project was to optimize the expression
and purification for crystallization of various isoforms and mutants
of GTP-cyclohydrolase I. |
