NASA provides funding and flight opportunities for investigations into the crystallization of biological and inorganic materials. In addition NASA funds an extensive earth-based research program involving crystallization. The upcoming NASA Research Announcement in biotechnology is discussed as well as the processes for performing flight experiments and a brief description of some of the existing flight hardware available. Plans for use of the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station are included.
