Since all areas of Crystallography are undergoing significant changes, this year's session of the YSSIG will feature a distinguished panel of crystallgraphers, Dick Harlow (Dupont Pharmaceuticals), Drake Eggleston (SmithKline Beehcam Pharmaceuticals), Janet Smith (Purdue U.), Judy Flippen- Anderson 9Navel Research Labs), Wim Hol (U. Of Washington), And Cele Abad-Zapatero (Abbott Labs), discussing the hot topics and future trends in their areas of research. Topics to be addressed include how third generation synchrotrons, the genome project, and advances in computational methods will affect the science of crystallography. In addition, panel members will address how these changes might affect research in academic, industrial, and government settings. Audience members are encouraged to voice their opinions regarding the topics of disucssions.
